Hey what's up readers?
Ever heard the quote "be the change you wish to see in the world"? Well, that's a quote that will forever resonate with me. One of the changes I'd like to see here in Baruch is more positive mental health.
We created a Facebook page called "Baruch Feels" to promote positive mental health last year, and are trying to make it even better with every passing semester. Before I go on, go like the page. I'll wait.
Thanks! So Baruch Feels is a social media platform that we use to tell students about all the different things that are available to them. We have resources on campus that you (or someone you may know) can use. We have the toll free hotlines that anyone can use. We post quotes and pictures that promote kindness, happiness and positivity. We talk about different events that may be happening that promote positive mental health. We send out good vibes on occasion. Lastly, we have our Kindness Campaign.
Essentially, the idea is to send kind messages to your fellow peers. It truly does brighten someone's day. I know because they said so. Taking 30 seconds out of your day to say something nice about someone else says a lot about your character and displays publicly what a great person your friend is. You never know what someone's going through and by going to tinyurl.com/SendAKindWord and writing about whomever - you can really give them the pick-me-up that they need.
If you have any suggestions about other things we can post on Baruch Feels, please feel free to shoot me your thoughts at email@example.com
Have a good one!
